Academic Program

The Faculty of Geomatics is one of the 5 faculties of the Sabaragamuwa University of Sri Lanka and was established in 2004. It is the successor to the department of Surveying Sciences, which introduced the Bachelor of Science (Surveying Sciences) degree program in 1997. This was the first time in the history of the university system in Sri Lnaka that such a degree program  was introduced by a university fulfilling a much felt need of the country. The degree program is a four year course leading to a special degree, and it is the only such degree awarded in Sri Lanka.

It consists of two departments and award 5 special honors degrees.

• Department of Remote Sensing & GIS

Our faculty fulfills the practical and theoretical knowledge of the students with  most recent instruments and surveying techniques in order to output a well-qualified professional surveyor to the national workforce.
